My progress so far

Started off by thinking about making a music video, we went on to look at famous songs and there music videos analysing them to see how narrative is  used in these videos to send across to the audience a specific message or show an idea. While doing so we learnt about and how to identify how songs are divided into groups called genres which is based on them having specific features and familiar characteristics in them.

However this was then changed into making a short film and so we took a look at and analysed short films to see how they used narrative to interact with the audience. We then had a look at how movie posters were used to create or send an idea to the audience about what the movie is like. We specifically looked at thriller movies and there posters and analysed how this may apply to them. We learnt how in posters media texts are used to help imply the fact that its a horror/thriller movie through the use of media language which comes in the form of written, colour, and technical codes.

As a group we then came up with our own short story idea, which we then analysed using narrative theory.   Based on this idea we wrote out a step outline which included the basic thoughts of what should roughly be in every scene. Before writing out our script we looked at existing scripts, and thoroughly looked at the layout and structure of it, so that we could apply this to our script. This was then followed with the witting of the script which included what was actually in every scene. We then went on to come up with possible titles for our short film, which we selected the one from that we found to be the most suitable for our short film idea.
